For the Churro Dough:

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Frying:

  • Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

For the Filling:

  • ¾ cup Nutella (or chocolate-hazelnut spread)

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:

    • In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
    • Reduce heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
    • Beat in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract, until smooth.
  • Pipe the Churros:

    • Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
    • Pipe 4-inch churros onto parchment paper.
  • Fry the Churros:

    • Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep fryer or heavy pot.
    • Fry churros in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
    • Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Coat the Churros:

    • Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow dish.
    • Roll warm churros in the mixture to coat evenly.
  • Fill with Nutella:

    • Warm Nutella slightly for easy piping.
    • Use a piping bag with a narrow tip to fill churros from both ends.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Serve warm with extra Nutella or chocolate sauce for dipping.
