Grilled Shrimp Tacos are the perfect quick and delicious meal. Packed with smoky shrimp, fresh toppings, and vibrant flavors, this taco recipe is perfect for busy weeknights and offers a healthy, flavorful dinner solution.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Fresh shrimp (large or jumbo size)
  • Soft corn or flour tortillas
  • Fresh taco toppings:
    • Lettuce
    • Tomatoes
    • Avocado
    • Cilantro
    • Lime wedges
    • Red onions (diced)
    • Sliced radishes
    • Pickled jalapeños
    • Crumbled cotija cheese
  • For the marinade:
    • Lime juice
    • Orange juice
    • Garlic
    • Chili powder
    • Cumin
    • Salt & pepper
  • Optional sauces:
    • Chipotle lime crema
    • Avocado sauce
    • Spicy mayo

Instructions

  • Prepare the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine lime juice, orange juice, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to create the marinade. Add shrimp and marinate for 15-30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Grill the Shrimp: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400-450°F). Skewer shrimp or place directly on the grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and slightly curled.
  • Prepare Toppings: While the shrimp cooks, chop your fresh toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, etc.).
  • Warm the Tortillas: Heat tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side or warm over a gas flame.
  • Assemble the Tacos: Place grilled shrimp onto the tortillas. Top with fresh toppings, a drizzle of sauce, and a squeeze of lime.

Notes

  • Frozen Shrimp: If using frozen shrimp, make sure to thaw and pat them dry before marinating.
  • Tortilla Type: You can use either corn or flour tortillas. Corn offers a more authentic taste, while flour is softer and easier to fold.
  • Marinade Variations: Try mixing in grapefruit juice or pineapple juice for a tropical twist.
