- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano

- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried basil
For Assembly:

- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Set up a breading station: place the flour in one dish, beaten eggs in a second, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, and oregano in a third.
- Bread the Chicken:
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess.
- Dip into the beaten eggs, ensuring full coverage.
- Coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the breaded chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Assemble the Dish:
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the chicken breasts in the dish, then top with more marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake:
- Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- For a golden finish, broil for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve:
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
- Serve hot with pasta, salad, or garlic bread.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, double-bread the chicken by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps.
- Use fresh mozzarella for a creamier, more authentic flavor.
- To make the dish gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour.
