Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices of ciabatta or Italian bread
- 8 slices of fresh mozzarella cheese
- 2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
- Olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat your panini press or grill to medium-high heat.
- Brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil. Place two slices, oil side down, on your work surface.
- Layer the mozzarella slices, tomato slices, and basil leaves on the bread. Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, oiled side up.
- Grill the sandwiches in the panini press until the bread is crispy and the cheese has melted, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from the press, slice diagonally, and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute balsamic vinegar for the glaze.
- Vegan options can substitute mozzarella with your favorite plant-based cheese.
